Smirky J&M for a sunny Friday. It's a constant source of wonderment how religious people can venerate their holy books, as much as they do, and yet refuse to measure them in the light of modern morality (or even refuse to accept that moral standards change over time!). It seems to those of us outside of these traditions like a permanent cognitive dissonance that you have to endure by "ignoring it" in order to take these things seriously.
