It's a lovely line. And gardens are lovely.

Though wouldn't it be great if there were fairies at the bottom of the garden as well?

In the context of the book, of course, the skeptic Ford Prefect was totally wrong. Magrathea did in fact exist, and was nuclear armed. With bad results for a bowl of petunias and an innocent whale.

I really must read that book again, made me smile, a lot!
