J and M pointing out the rather modern phenomenon of the labelling of claims by certain activist groups (that they don't agree with or simply don't like), "dog-whistles" They seem to do this with the intention of shutting up and/or shutting down dissenting voices, and the attribution of sinister intent to claimants when such claims are usually just a statement of fact that contradicts the established (unsubstantiated) dogmas of that group.
A good example of this would be if someone said publicly (say on Twitter), "Trans-women are biologically Men" they would (in many circles) be labelled as "transphobic" and quite possibly hounded out of their job or at least de-platformed in some way by rabid trans-activists. JK Rowling has fallen foul of this trend lately and has been on the receiving end of threats of violence, death and various attempts to de-platform and discredit her for simply stating biological facts and standing up for the rights of Women.
I do wonder sometimes where all this is headed, doesn't look like a happy place to me.
