So, my local craft brewer Siren has teamed up with Brew By Numbers (Bermondsey) to make two beers using exactly the same hops. On the left you have a West Coast style beer and on the right you have an East coast style beer, the former being hoppy and bitter and the latter being hazy, soft and equally hoppy. I tried both over the bank holiday and decided that I liked the East Coast style the best; it showed off the delicious tropical flavours of the hops the best and I'm a sucker for that uber-soft mouthfeel that a well made East Coaster has. Great experiment though, interesting to see how hops and beer style can vary flavours so much with the same basic ingredients.
