According to the author of this web site the "rapture" is going to happen today!!
This particular piece of Christian nuttiness is a prophecy that the end of the world will be initiated by Jesus coming (floating?) back to the planet to "save" the true believers by whisking them off to paradise with him leaving the rest of us to clean up the mess and get on with things without them; funny though, I can't see any downside for us blasphemers?
*Warning* don't try to read this web site for too long, the insane colour scheme and random use of caps. causes your brain to haemorrhage.
*Note to self* check this site tomorrow.

Ha Steve, I think maybe your freudian slip is showing with the shag someTHING, not someONE. :-)
It just goes to show what those pesky scientists and philosophers say, which is that the human mind seeks meaning, whether or not it is warranted. Of course, we're lucky that tuning in tomorrow will falsify (at least part of) that theory.
Hi Lisa,
Doh! you are right, although being a good scientist I try never to rule anything out! :/
Actually I think by calling this kind of thing "seeking meaning" we are being very polite and respectful :)
Tuning in tomorrow won't falsify the prophecy. It will merely prove that the date was misunderstood, or it was the Gregorian calendar, or a 1 was misread as a 2, or God's giving all you atheists another chance. The prophecy will still be true...
G, of course!
I am reminded of this cartoon a speciality technique of a certain Mr Derren Brown I think.
Typical atheist man - so you're going to add a whole load of unwanted pregnancies to the rest of the mess Jesus will leave you to clear up? Or are you just regressing to a more primitive evolutionary stage ;-)
Just glad I got to see Coldplay last week.
dmk: I know, I'm just your average reckless primate really, what can I say, not worthy :)
re. Coldplay; sounds like you had a good time (I read your review of the gig, good post BTW), interestingly they were on the telly last night; they certainly do bang out a good tune but I'm not convinced about the live performances (at least the ones they showed) - good but not great is my impression; compared to the likes of U2 or the Stones or Floyd etc.
How would you rate them?
"average reckless primate"

Steve, I always knew you were a complete perv. I'm surprised - I've seen a picture of your missus!
I was just trying to put a comment in here yesterday when the Rapture came and I vanished from my computer and keyboard. Then when they realized it was just me they had, a non-believer, they threw me out so I can continue to comment on this blog.
E, "Premature rapturation"; you can get pills for that these days :)
I'm still here... is that good or bad? Have I been "left behind" or... surely not... was the prophecy.. mis-interpreted?
G, now come on, you're just not taking this seriously... there's 15 minutes to go!
Drat, still here too. Just hoping all the forecasters will disappear from the web for 10 years in shame and embarassment.
Coldplay: good but not great, but that was the view from the 2nd tier, we were a long way from the action. People I've spoken to who went to U2 recently were much more moved by it. Coldplay was an excellent show, and we're still humming the tunes, but entertaining rather than moving. Don't know if that says more about them or more about me!!
