I was lucky enough to try one of these beauties over the long weekend, it's a collaboration between two of my favourite breweries, Siren and Verdant (long overdue!) and is a hazy IPA called "Leapling". Back in February the head brewer from Verdant in Cornwall paid a visit to sunny Berkshire and dropped in on Siren central to make a collaboration beer and also give a little talk on Verdant and also to showcase their "Puttty" offering, I blogged about it at the time. Leapling is the result and it's a banger. The beer definitely occupies the middle ground between the two house styles, it has the soft pillowy mouthfeel of Verdant and the spiky vibe of Siren, the flavours are a classic combo of US and NZ hops, mango with a little gooseberry with little or no bitterness to speak of, a lovely beer. A side note, it's called "Leapling" because it was conceived on the 29th February (of course)..
