Not so much a train of thought, more a replacement bus service of godless waffle, jokes and memes with a snifter of wine and craft-beer related stuff on the side..
I don't see shinto or bahai or zoroastrianism or voodoo... typical occidental cultural perspective.
Interestingly a large majority of Japanese (I think it's high 80s) identify themselves as adherents of shinto and buddhism and that they are also 'not religious' - all at the same time!
A friend just sent me this pic and i was going to use it on my blog but I see you got there first. I think I might still use it and you just pretend that you've never seen it before, OK?

OP, superstition comes in lots of wrappers :) great costumes though!
