Plague Island

So the chancers running the country think it's time we dispensed with all the safety measures to do with the current Covid pandemic, against most scientific advice (and common sense). I suppose the logic is that deaths and hospitalizations are at "acceptable" levels, where essentially that means everyone has more or less gotten used to the fact that 1,500 people are dying every week and 200,000 new cases are emerging every day (according to the independent Zoe study). It seems to me to be an entirely politically motivated decision, one that's been manufactured to ensure that the Tory back-benchers who are poised to remove the head of their leader are somehow placated and distracted by being allowed to sneeze over everyone in their local "Spoons"! It strikes me that we're steaming toward being labelled "plague island" again, cue associated travel bans! Or, perhaps the Government is keen to ensure that the next world conquering variant comes from the UK, after all we don't want those pesky Russians or Europeans to beat us to it would we!
