One of the things that the software my company produces does is to assess the risk of doing business with particular companies and individuals and part of that process is to perform what they call "AML" or Anti-Money Laundering checks. One of those checks is that none of the directors or beneficial owners of a company are domiciled in or passport holders of any of the countries on a list we call "the risky countries list", sadly we had to put Belarus and Russia on that list today joining other international outcasts like Iran, Syria and North Korea. Judging by the dreadful news today it would seem unlikely that these two names will be removed from this list for maybe decades to come, consigning whole generations of Russians to exclusion from interacting with people in countries other than those on this list, such a waste of talent and opportunity.
