Another one bites the dust..

Saw this today on the interwebs, it's from the Wild Beer Co and is informing people about the firm entering administration. I visited this brewery two Summer's ago on a family trip to Somerset and I waxed lyrical about some of their beers. They specialised in "wild ferment" ales which essentially means allowing naturally air-born yeast to ferment the beer which obviously is a little less reliable than "lab-produced" yeast but does sometimes throw up some wonderful flavours, they also used everyday "hedgerow" ingredients that they foraged from the countryside around their brewery, truly innovative.

I remember trying their "Wild IPA" for the first time and it even made it onto my 2021 top 20 beers list! They also made a beer called "Bibble" which was legendary, a Mosaic hop feast that you could often buy in London bars and there was "Millionaire" a stout that made it onto my 2018 list. They were all great brews and a fresh change from the run of the mill IPAs and pale ales that were common in those days, I even visited their taproom in Bristol when taking my Son on a tour of the University there back in 2019, a nice memory. It's a great shame that the company has folded, let's hope they can find a buyer and the ideas behind the great beers the firm produced can persist under new ownership.
